I remember my first meeting with Kelsey and Jake, we did a shot of tequila, and I knew right there that this was meant to be. And that it was! They tied the knot at Serenity Park in Maple Ridge on a hot sunny day in June and held their reception at Fraserview Village Hall just across the road. When asked what they were looking forward to most on their wedding day Kelsey said “walking down the aisle and seeing Jake” and his moment was “being pronounced husband and wife”.
It’s moments like this that make your heart skip a beat.
Moments like this that make for everlasting memories.

Their story began at a little pub in Mission where they connected through their love for pool.
Kelsey beat Jake (of course) and it was at that moment he knew this was the girl for him.
He proposed while they were on a camping trip with close friends.
It was near the end of the day and the weather was beautiful.
As the sun set, there they stood on the end of a dock overlooking the lake and it was there
Jake asked Kelsey to be his forever.

I asked Kelsey and Jake to reflect on their day to prepare for this blog and to help any future couples plan their special day.

How would you describe your day?

“It was special, being surrounded by our friends and family. Everyone has their own perception of what is perfect to them, our day was perfect for us!”

What did you love about your venue?

“We loved that we were able to do everything in one place (reception and ceremony) and that we were able to have our own catering brought in!”

What is your favourite memory?

“The moments after we said our I do’s and got to get together with our wedding party and had a drink on the party bus on our way to take photos, everyone was so energetic and happy”

What advice do you have for future couples?

SOAK IT ALL IN and what will be, will be! We know everyone says that it goes by quickly, it really does and people also say that something is bound to go wrong on your special day. Once all the planning is done, just appreciate the day.

Jurassic Park, it was a beautiful rendition by the insanely talented Brooklyn Duo.
