Hi! I’m Sam, the name and face behind Always Smiling Photography, a wedding and elopement photography business based in Mission, BC. I specialize in adventurous and heartfelt wedding photography, capturing real moments that last a lifetime. My journey started with film photography, and I’ll never forget the magic of developing my first roll of film in a darkroom. I’ve always loved connecting with people, and after photographing my first wedding, I was hooked. The emotion, the adventure, and the opportunity to create timeless memories for couples are what inspire me every day.
Adventure is my middle name. I’m a globe-trotter at heart and spent 13 months exploring Australia, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement, a destination wedding, or a traditional celebration, I love helping couples tell their love story anywhere in the world. Love is love, and I am thrilled to document weddings and elopements for every couple, wherever their hearts take them.
At home, my hubby and I might hold the unofficial award for “nerdiest couple,” and we rescued our wonderful dog, Monkey, so now we’re a cozy family of three. We love hiking, discovering quirky local cafés, and snuggling on the couch. I also have a thing for hats, so if you can’t find me at a shoot or coffee date, just look for the girl with the hat and the smile.
